The First Snow

Well, finally we got our first snow. Not that we weren't enjoying our very warm, long fall, but I just couldn't get into the Christmas spirit without it. We woke up on Monday morning to about 4 inches of fresh snow and it continued to snow throughout the day. All in all we got about 6 inches at our house. Jamison is amazed and everytime he looks out the window he says, "no!" We got Jamison all suited up to go play but he wasn't quite sure. He was saying "uhoh" and then he got mad when the snow got on his boots. Josh took Jamison sledding yesterday, and because I wasn't home we didn't get any pictures, but I guess Jamison loved it and we will have to do it again. Here are some pictures of the snow and some other recent events.

We went to a gingerbread house decorating party with some friends of mine and their kids. Jamison wasn't interested in decorating the houses--he only wanted to eat the candy. This is the best picture I got of us the whole night.

Halloween

I know it's late, but I wanted to post some photos of Jamison's second Halloween. Josh and I were both working, but luckily Gigi and Papa were around so the little man could participate in the festivities. They took him to this trippy, hippy place by our house where they had a candy-free Halloween celebration. The little man got to go on a hay ride, feed the goats, hit a pinata, and show off his pirate costume.

Memory Lane

So Josh downloaded all of the pics out of his cell phone into the computer and they really took us on a trip down memory lane. We can't believe the little man is going to be 2 in January, but his behavior at times is keeping us reminded. He is starting to throw fits--he actually will throw himself on the floor when he is not happy. Carpet, concrete, hard wood...he doesn't seem to care. He has graduated from walking to running and injuries have become a normal part of our days. At the end of this week we are going to Missouri to she Josh's mom, papa Bob, and all of Josh's siblings. They are excited to see Jamison--most of them have not seen him since the wedding. Anyway, I thought you would enjoy some of these old shots.

The Bomb Pop

Jamison had an experience this week that all kids should. The ice cream truck (or converted golf cart) came by the house and he got to pick out his treat of choice. He chose a "Bomb Pop" which is a gigantic chocolate and banana fudgesicle. Here are some pics from the event...

He kept saying "ba pa" the whole time he was eating eat.

The aftermath...

Jamison has liked to hold on to a piece of my make-up when I am getting ready since he was a little guy. Well, now I guess he knows how to get the cap off. Luckly, this was the water-proof variety!

Like a couple without a kid...

What a couple of fun days Josh and I have had. Next Monday, as you all know, is our first wedding aniversary. Well or course, we have like a million things going on between work, school, and Jamison. I have my first week of tests, Jamison has his first music class, and Josh has a 2-day recertification at work. With that said, we weren't going to be able to escape on a romantic getaway, but we had a wonderful last couple of days. We went boating with an old friend of Josh's that he reconnected with at the VA. We attended a party for Jill Derby who is running for Congress. And yesterday we all hiked Mt. Rose (and then ate Super Burrito immediately after).

It was the most beautiful day out on Pyramid. The lake was calm, warm, and no one was there.

Our friends introduced us to surfing. It is like wakeboarding, but you get up on this board with no bindings an you are only a couple of feet behind the boat. There is a spot where the boat will pull you along and you don't need to hold the rope. Lets just say I never made it there but I was still proud of myself just for gettting up and having some fun with it. Josh had a lot of fun, as you can tell--he hasn't been able to move since.

The more cautious surfer.

Ahh, sweet success...the summit of Mt. Rose. Molly was a trooper, she did not even seem fatigued.

This photo is from last week but I had to share it.

Last Days of Summer

We went up to Sand Harbor yesterday for probably the last time this year and it was the perfect day. Well not perfect in the sense that Josh had the stomach flu, but the weather could not have been better. Low 80s, no wind, and hardly anyone there. We had a great day. We stayed all day and Jamison really swam and had fun in the water. I got some great photos of Josh and his little man.

Dad and baby modeling...

They look like they should be in the tourist guide under "Visiting Lake Tahoe."

Warming up aftewards...
